Mounties investigate two break-ins at Cole Harbour pool

By Meghan Groff

RCMP are investigating after an outdoor pool in Cole Harbour was broken into two weekends in a row.

A suspect or suspects broke into the Colby Drive facility sometime between 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 20 and 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 21. Mounties say the pool office building was rummaged through and several items were thrown into the pool, which caused damage.

Then sometime between 10 p.m. on Friday, July 26 and 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, the fence was damaged, the pool was entered and beer cans were left behind.

“Police are concerned that someone could get seriously injured as it appears alcohol was involved in both incidents,” RCMP said in a news release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP at 902-490-5020, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
