Officers spot man napping on sofa beside gun : HRP

A Dartmouth man is facing firearms offences after Halifax Regional Police say officers found him napping on a sofa with a firearm beside him.

Police were called to an apartment on Lakefront Road for a noise complaint Friday at around 9:40 a.m.

When the arrived, they found an open apartment door and spotted the 28-year-old slumbering inside.

Officers say they secured the firearm, arrested the man and got a warrant to search the apartment.

The man is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
