Police investigate after driver offered teen ride to mall

UPDATE: Halifax Regional Police say they have identified the man they were looking for in this incident and, at this time, charges are not anticipated.


Halifax Regional Police are looking into a report that a man offered a teen a ride to the mall.

It happened at around 8 a.m. Tuesday while the 16-year-old was walking along Sea King Drive, not far from Mic Mac Mall.

The youth said no and walked away, and the man drove off.

The man is described as white, in his 40s with a stocky build. He had been wearing a green hoodie, a bright traffic jacket and jeans.

The vehicle is described as a white Mazda 2 with a black cargo case on the roof. 

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to call police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
