Police investigate convenience store robbery

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred at a convenience store early Saturday morning.

Around 4:40 a.m. on Nov. 13, police responded to the incident at the Needs Convenience at 33 Herring Cove Rd.

A man had entered the store with a handgun and demanded that the store employee give him cigarettes.

“The clerk was not injured,” an HRP news release says. “The suspect left the area in a vehicle and was last seen in the 200-300 block of Herring Cove Road, Halifax.”

The suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 40 and 45. He was also between 5'8″ and 5'10″ tall.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing grey pants along with a grey, white and black sweater. He was also wearing a medical mask.

HRP says the investigation is still in the early stages.
