Police investigate September sexual assault in Woodside

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a sexual assault that happened about six weeks ago in the Woodside area.

They say a woman was walking on a path between Waynewood Drive and Brompton Road at around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, when she was approached from behind by a man who sexually assaulted her.

She was able to get away and the man fled the area.

The incident was reported to police on Saturday.

The suspect is described as around 5'7″ and he had been wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up. 

“Out of respect and concern for the victim's privacy and wellbeing, we are not releasing any further details regarding the incident,” said HRP in a news release.

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to call police at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
