Police look for information about homicide victim found inside parked van

By Meghan Groff

RCMP want to learn more about the whereabouts of a homicide victim leading up to his murder in East Preston late last month.

At around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, Mounties were called out to investigate a suspicious van that had been parked behind a strip mall.

Responding officers discovered the body of a man inside.

The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Barry Angus Studley of Middle Sackville.

Now investigators are hoping to learn more about where Studley was and what he was doing in the days before his murder.

They're also looking for dashcam footage taken in the 1900 block of Hwy. 7 from the evening of August 29 to the morning of August 30.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP Major Crime Unit at 902-490-5020.

Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
