Halifax Regional Police have released a description of a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing Friday night in downtown Halifax.

Officers were called to Salter Street just before 9 p.m.

Investigators believe a young man approached two other men he didn't know, assaulted one of them and stabbed the other before running off.

The stabbing victim, a 56-year-old, was taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as white and in his late teens or early twenties, around 5'10″ with a thin build and short dark hair.

He had been wearing a black T-shirt with white writing, black and grey pants, and red boots.

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to call police at 902-490-5016 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
