Police search for suspect after Bedford bank robbery

Halifax Regional Police are searching for a suspect after a bank along the Bedford Highway was robbed Friday afternoon.

A man went into the Bank of Montreal near Dartmouth Road just after 3 p.m. 

According to police, he handed an employee a note saying he had a weapon and was going to rob the branch.

No one was hurt.

Police say after the suspect got some cash, he fled on foot outbound along the Bedford Highway before hopping into a nearby parked vehicle. That vehicle was seen heading east along Dartmouth Road.

The man is described as white, in his 40s, around 6'3″ and 210 pounds. He had a scruffy beard and was wearing a red and white flannel shirt, jeans, sunglasses and a Toronto Blue Jays ball cap.
