Public asked to avoid Dartmouth neighbourhood for police investigation

By Meghan Groff

Members of the public are being asked to avoid a Dartmouth neighbourhood for police investigation.

Halifax Regional Police say they're in the area of Mount Pleasant Avenue.

As of just before 1 p.m. Thursday, Crichton Park Elementary School has been placed on a hold and secure for precautionary reasons, but that has since been lifted.

Police say there is no threat to public safety.

This is the second day in a row schools have been placed on hold and secure for a police investigation. On Wednesday, Dartmouth High and John Martin Junior High were affected by a police investigation.

And earlier this week, several schools in the Halifax area were placed on hold and secure due to an investigation in Clayton Park.
