RCMP bring home the bacon after pig escapes (2 photos)

RCMP brought home the bacon of a loose pig that escaped her enclosure in the Meaghers Grant area.

Mounties were recently called to Highway 357.

Arriving officers found the road hog running down the highway, chasing after any motorists who stopped to try and help her.

“Despite Cst. Barter’s best efforts to make friends, Mia charged at him and managed to land a few nips on his shins,” said RCMP in a Facebook post.

Someone living in the area helped the officers get the swine into a makeshift pen and track down her owner.

Mia was found 2.5 km from her home and police discovered that was the second time she had escaped that day.

“Mia is now home safe and sound, and her owner has promised to build a more secure enclosure to house this highly skilled escape artist,” Mounties said.
