Halifax District RCMP is investigating an armed robbery at a Lower Sackville gas station.

Police say that on Nov. 5, around 3:30 p.m., they responded to a panic alarm from the Shell gas station at 381 Sackville Dr. Upon arrival, officers learned the alarm went off after the robbery.

According to RCMP, a slim, masked male entered the gas station and showed a firearm. After that, he was given several cigarettes and fled on foot.

The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a black hooded jacket and a mask with whiskers printed on it.

No one was injured as a result of this incident, police say.

RCMP officers set up containment measures for the area and tried to search the suspect with a police service dog. However, the accused male has not been located.

The investigation is ongoing.
