RCMP seize weapon and drugs in Eastern Passage

RCMP have seized a weapon and drugs in Eastern Passage.

Officers pulled a vehicle over on Main Rd. Thursday, May 20.

The driver was arrested after they say he refused to identify himself.

Police say his licence had been revoked and there was a prohibited weapon (baton) in the vehicle by his feet.

The 29-year-old Halifax man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 14 for the charge of possession of a prohibited weapon. He also got a ticket for driving with a revoked licence.

Investigators say they seized cocaine, heroin, cash, illegal cigarettes and drug trafficking paraphernalia from a female passenger.

The 32-year-old Dartmouth woman is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 13 to face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
