Highway 107 was closed for about six hours while crews investigated the collision on May 24.

Just after 2 p.m., RCMP in Musquodoboit Harbour responded to an accident between a car and a dump truck.

When they arrived, they found the 18-year-old driver of the car with life-threatening injuries.

He was transported to the hospital via ambulance, and police say he remained in critical condition as of 8 p.m. Friday.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured, and both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicle according to an RCMP release.

The collision occurred between Exits 20 and 21 on Highway 107.

Police say the car had been turning on to the highway when it was struck by the dump truck, which was heading West.

Highway 107 between Porters Lake and Head of Chezzetcook was closed until 8 p.m. yesterday, with traffic rerouted to Highway 7.

An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist was called to examine the scene, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
