Three people are facing charges after Halifax Regional Police searched two illegal cannabis dispensaries late last week.

Investigators searched the Farm Assists locations on Gottingen Street and in Porters Lake Friday afternoon.

Police say they seized around $26,000, 10 pounds of cannabis and over 1,600 other cannabis products.

Twenty-seven-year-old Michael Francis Preeper of Lake Echo, 35-year-old Lason Sinclair Johnson of Halifax and 21-year-old Shauna Marie Crane, of Halifax have all been charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession for use in production or distribution of illicit cannabis, and possession of property obtained by crime.

Crane is also facing three charges of breaching a recognizance.

“The only legal way to buy recreational cannabis in Nova Scotia is through the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation Cannabis retail and online outlets,” said HRP in a news release. “The only legal way for Canadians to access medical cannabis is through Health Canada.”
