Two arrested after vehicle break-ins

By Meghan Groff

A man and a woman have been arrested after items were stolen from a couple of vehicles in Grand Lake and Waverley.

On Sunday morning, RCMP were told the driver’s side window of the vehicle was smashed at Laurie Provincial Park. A GPS was among the items stolen.

Then a window was smashed and a wallet was stolen from a vehicle on Waverley Road.

An employee at a Fall River business then called police to say a man and woman, who had been travelling in a white pickup truck, were trying to use multiple bank cards to buy pre-paid VISA cards and lottery tickets.

Mounties arrested a man and woman who they say had a stack of bank cards on the centre console of a white pickup truck.

The pair are facing charges of:

  • Four counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Four counts of mischief under $5,000
  • Four counts of theft under $5,000.

In addition, the man has also been charged with failing to comply with a release order.
