Two charged after BB guns fired in Woodside

Two people have been charged with weapons and drug offences after Halifax Regional Police were told a group of people were firing what were believed to be BB guns at a person in Woodside last week.

Officers were called to Brompton Road at around 10:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Shortly after midnight, ten people were arrested at a residence on Highfield Park Drive, eight of which were released without charges.

When police searched the residence, they say they seized cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis and psilocybin, various pills, over $12,000 and three replica firearms. 

A 20-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Pointing a firearm
  • Use of a firearm in commission of an offence
  • Careless use of a weapon
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
  • Six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution 

A 16-year-old youth is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:

  • Pointing a firearm
  • Use of a firearm in commission of an offence
  • Careless use of a weapon
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
