Woman suffers stab wounds following altercation at Halifax McDonald's (Updated)

The 25 year old woman suffered non-life threatening injuries; two people are in custody

UPDATE: Police have charged a 39-year-old woman with assault causing bodily harm and a weapons charge. The others arrested were released without charge.

Halifax Police are investigating an assault with a weapon that occurred early Sunday morning on Kempt Road.

At 1:25 a.m., officers were called to a McDonald's after a report of an altercation in the parking lot involving pedestrians and vehicles.

Police located a 25-year-old female suffering from stab wounds and she was transferred to hospital.

Investigators say she was involved in the original altercation in the parking lot.

A short time later, investigators learned of another incident that occurred at another business on Kempt Road.

As a result, two males and two females are in police custody.

An investigation is ongoing, and investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are looking for information from the public.
