Youth charged in Dartmouth weapons incident

By Meghan Groff

A 17-year-old has been arrested after a weapons incident in Dartmouth Saturday.

Halifax Regional Police were told a youth with a knife was chasing another youth near Caledonia Road and Main Street at around 4:25 p.m.

The victim wasn't hurt and police don't believe this was a random incident.

Arriving officers located a suspect in the area and say they seized a knife while searching them.

The teen will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Youth Court at a later date to face charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
