The news business has certainly taken Dan to places all over the country. After spending part of his life in the Canadian Armed Forces, Dan graduated from Confederation College’s radio and television program and landed his first gig in the paper-making town of Dryden, Ontario. From there it was to Thunder Bay for a stint at Dougall Media and then off to Owen Sound and Bayshore Broadcasting. When Rogers Media decided to launch three news-talk stations in Atlantic Canada, Dan jumped at the opportunity. First as an anchor at News 91.9 in Moncton, then as the host of The Drive with Dan Ahlstrand and then The New Brunswick Morning News. Dan is now the News Director at CityNews 95.7 and co-anchors All News Mornings on each weekday morning from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. When not working away in the newsroom you can find Dan chasing a trout on a stream, watching his beloved Everton on the pitch, or quietly hoping that Toronto will find a way to win the Stanley Cup.
