The Halifax Mooseheads came out on top on Tuesday, defeating the Cape Breton Eagles 6-1 at home.

Elliot Desnoyers opened up the scoring early in the first period to put the Herd up 1-0.

Peter Repcik put the Eagles on the board later in the period to make it 1-1 going into the second.

Jordan Dumais, Robert Orr and Zack Jones extended that lead to 4-1 shortly after.

Orr and Desnoyers each netted their second goals of the evening late in the final period to make it a 6-1 final in Halifax's favour.

The Mooseheads are back at the Scotiabank Centre on Wednesday when they welcome the Saint John Sea Dogs.
