Halifax Mooseheads drop Cape Breton Eagles 9-3

Evan Boucher scored four times to help lead the Herd to victory

The Halifax Mooseheads dropped the Cape Breton Eagles in an impressive 9-3 win on Tuesday.

The Mooseheads got off to a dominant start, scoring four straight in the opening period. 

Evan Boucher scored twice while Zachary Beauregard and Elliot Desnoyers each found the back of Cape Breton's net in the first 20 minutes.

Carter McCluskey put Cape Breton on the board early in the second period.

Boucher competed the hat-trick a short time later while Desnoyers followed up with his second of the evening.

Mathieu Cataford added one more for the Herd to make it 7-1 after 40 minutes.

Logan Camp scored the Eagles' second of the evening but Boucher answered back in seconds with his fourth goal of the evening.

James Swan netted one more to make it a 9-2.

Conor Shortall answered back to make it 9-3 but it wasn't enough as the Mooseheads came out on top.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Friday when they welcome the when they welcome the Rimouski Oceanic.
