Huskies edge out Mooseheads 3-2 in OT

By CityNews Halifax Staff

The Halifax Mooseheads came up short in the last game of their first Quebec road trip this season as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies topped the Herd 3-2 in overtime.

Logan Crosby gave Halifax a quick 1-0 lead a few minutes into the opening period.

But the Huskies quickly responded as Louis-Philippe Fontaine and Jakub Hujer each found the back of the Herd's net to make it 2-1.

Mathieu Cataford tied things up at 2-2 late in the second period.

After a scoreless third period, Emeric Gaudet netted the game winner for the Huskies.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre next Thursday when they welcome the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
