Islanders pick up 4-1 win over Mooseheads

The Charlottetown Islanders topped the Halifax Mooseheads 4-1 on home ice Friday night.

Patrick Guay opened up the scoring midway through the opening period but Elliot Desnoyers answered back quickly to make it 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Brett Budgell and Lukas Cormier added to the Islanders' lead in the second period to make it 3-1.

Drew Elliott made it 4-1 Charlottetown early in the final period to make it a 4-1 final.

Both teams will square off again on Saturday night at the Scotiabank Centre.
