Islanders pick up 6-4 win over Mooseheads

The Charlottetown Islanders extended their win streak with a 6-4 win over the Halifax Mooseheads on Sunday.

Markus Vidicek opened up the scoring with Patrick Guay answering back with a pair of goals to help Charlottetown take the lead.

Robert Orr tied things up for the Herd late in the opening frame.

Elliot Desnoyers helped give Halifax the lead but Brett Budgell and Oscar Plandowski responded, giving the Islanders a 4-3 lead after 40 minutes.

Zack Jones tied things up in the third period but Jakub Brabenec restored Charlottetown's lead.

Sam Oliver netted one more for the Islanders to make it a 6-4 final.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Quebec to take on the Val-d'Or Foreurs.
