Mooseheads come back in final period to defeat Eagles 6-3

The Halifax Mooseheads defeated the Cape Breton Eagles 6-3 on Saturday, in their first game of 2021.

The Mooseheads opened up the scoring in the first period as Cam Whynot found the back of Cape Breton's net to make it 1-0.

The Eagles bounced back in the second period as Liam Kidney scored twice and Lucas Canning added a tally to make it 3-1 Cape Breton.

Zachary L'Heureux brought the Herd within one early in the third period while Robert Orr followed up to tie things up.

Justin Barron put the Herd up one late in the period while Zach Jones and Whynot each scored empty netters to make it a 6-3 final.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Sunday when they welcome the Charlottetown Islanders.
