Mooseheads defeat Armada 5-4 in shootout victory

The Halifax Mooseheads defeated the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 5-4 in a shootout on Thursday.

Zachary L'Heureux opened up the scoring, giving Halifax a 1-0 just passed the midway point of the first period.

Xavier Sarrasin tied things up for the Armada early in the second period with Alexey Kulikov following up to give them their first lead of the game.

Markus Vidicek answered back for the Herd to make it 2-2.

L'Heureux netted his second goal of the evening late in the second period to restore the Mooseheads' lead but Sarrasin answered back with his second of the evening to make it 3-3.
 
Mikaël Denis put the Armada back up by one near the end of the second period.

Evan Boucher tied things up midway through the third period, forcing overtime where neither team managed to net the game winner resulting in a shootout where Owen Phillips scored the winning goal.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Saturday when they Welcome the Gatineau Olympiques
