The Halifax Mooseheads defeated the Saint John Sea Dogs 5-2 on Thursday night.
Noah Reinhart put the Sea Dogs up 1-0 near the midway point of the opening frame.
Alexandre Doucet answered back with a pair of goals to put the Herd up 2-1.
Evan Boucher followed up, giving Halifax a two goal lead heading into the second period. Luka Benoit brought the Sea Dogs within one in the second period.
Markus Vidicek restored Halifax's two goal lead in the third period.
Doucet completed the hat-trick with an empty netter, dealing the deal for the Herd.
The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Saturday when they welcome the Cape Breton Eagles.
