Mooseheads defeat Titan 6-3 in game one of opening round playoff series

The Halifax Mooseheads take a 1-0 series lead in the opening round of the playoffs after defeating the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 6-3 on Thursday.

The Mooseheads drew first blood as James Swan gave the Herd a 1-0 lead in the opening frame.

Jordan Dumais doubled Halifax's lead early in the second period.

Bennett MacArthur put the Titan on the board later in the period to bring them within one.

Mathieu Cataford restored the Herd's two goal lead early in the third period.

Zach Biggar added another tally for the Titan but Dumais answered back with his second of the evening to make it 4-2.

Zachary Beauregard scored an empty netter with Marc-André Gaudet answering back for the Titan.

But Markus Vidicek found the back of the Titan's empty net to make it a 6-3 final.

Game two is set to take place Friday night in Bathurst.
