Mooseheads hang on for win over Drakkar

By Mark Hodgins

A flurry of goals late in the second period pushed the Halifax Mooseheads to a big win on Thursday night.

The Moose scored four unanswered goals in the last six minutes of the second period to take a commanding lead over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, and Halifax wouldn't look back.

Brody Fournier got the scoring started with his first of the season. Mathieu Cataford, David Moravec and James Swan would add to the lead to put Halifax up 4-0 heading into the third period.

Mael Lavigne would respond in the third period to get the Drakkar on the board, and Nathan Baril would tip a shot in front that beat Halifax's Matthis Rousseau to make it 4-2.

The Mooseheads would hold on to that score for the final.

Halifax will be back in action on Friday night at 7 p.m. in Sydney for a date with the Eagles. Catch the game live on CityNews 95.7.
