Mooseheads open road trip with 5-3 win over Rimouski

By CityNews Halifax Staff

The Halifax Mooseheads are back in the win column after topping the Rimouski Oceanic 5-3 on Wednesday.

The Oceanic drew first blood on a Julien Béland marker early in the opening frame.

Logan Crosby notted things up near the midway point of the first period with Zach L'Heureux putting the Herd ahead minutes later.

Stéphane Huard Jr added to Halifax's lead early in the second period.

Rimouski's Maël St-Denis found the back of Halifax's net later in the period with Alexandre Lefebvre tying things up not long after that.

The third period started off with Markus Vidicek restoring the Herd's lead.

L'Heureux made it a 5-3 final with his second goal of the evening.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Chicoutimi on Friday to take on the Sags.
