Mooseheads pick up 11-3 win over Moncton Wildcats

By CityNews Halifax Staff

The Halifax Mooseheads put on a scoring clinic in their 11-3 win over the Moncton Wildcats on Sunday.

Jordan Dumais, Alexandre Doucet and Mathieu Cataford each found the back of Moncton's net to make it 3-0 Halifax after 20 minutes.

Evan Boucher, Josh Lawrence and Dumais added to that lead early in the second period to make it 6-0 Mooseheads.

Dumais completed the hat-trick 7:20 into the second period with Lawrence following up with two goals of his own to complete another hat-trick.

Cataford netted his second of the afternoon with Moncton's Yoan Loshing snapping the Wildcat's goaless drought shortly after.

Preston Lounsbury added another for the Wildcats but Dumais responded with his fourth goal of the game.

Moncton's Vincent Labelle netted another goal for the Wildcats but it wasn't enough as the Herd picked up the 11-3 win.

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Monday when they welcome the Wildcats to complete the home and home series.
