Mooseheads pick up 4-3 shootout win over Gatineau

The Halifax Mooseheads pick up their second straight shootout win on Saturday, defeating the Gatineau Olympiques 4-3.

Mathieu Cataford put the Mooseheads on board late in the first period to make it 1-0 going into the second.

Braeden MacPhee extended their lead to 2-0 early in the second period with Evan Boucher making it 3-0 a few minutes later.

Gatineau finally got on the board late in the second period thanks to a Marcel Marcel marker.

Olivier Boutin and Robert Orr tied things up in the third period to force overtime.

After a scoreless overtime, the Mooseheads hung on to win it in a shootout. 

The Mooseheads are back in the Scotiabank Centre on Wednesday when they welcome the Moncton Wildcats.
