Wildcats comeback to defeat Mooseheads 5-4

The Moncton Wildcats mounted an impressive comeback, defeating the Halifax Mooseheads 5-4 on Sunday.

Evan Boucher opened up the scoring, putting Halifax on the board early.

Zachary L'Heureux made it 2-0 Mooseheads just passed the midway point of the first period.

Mathieu Cataford kept the Herd's momentum rolling into the second period, making it 3-0 Halifax. Boucher netted his second of the evening minutes later to make it 4-0.

Then Wildcats took control as Etienne Morin finally put Moncton on the board late in the second period with Alex Mercier and Vincent Labelle following up later to make it 4-3 heading into the third period.

Mercier netted his second of the evening to tie things up for the Wildcats in the third period.

Maxim Barbashev scored the game winner to complete the comeback for the Wildcats.

The Mooseheads will make their way to Rimouski to take on the Oceanic on Wednesday.
