Conniving thieves rob Dartmouth woman

Regional police have two teens in custody after an unusual home invasion in Dartmouth.
Sgt. Bill Morris says a woman answered a knock on the door of her Macrae Avenue home around 10 Thursday night.
Two girls were there and asked the woman for a phone number.
When she left to get it the pair came in, threatened the woman with a knife and stole some electronics and jewellery.
Morris says it was a totally random act, and he suggests a little caution about opening your door to strangers.
“I would say be very careful if you don’t know the people,” he said. “If you are inclined to help tell them that you will, but leave them outside and make sure the door is locked.”
The victim wasn’t hurt, police found two 17-year-olds in the neighbourhood shortly afterwards and recovered the stolen items.
