Intruder woke woman before committing indecent act

Halifax police have released a frightening new detail that suggests a break and enter in the city’s west end was the work of a brazen sexual predator.
A man entered a home on Edinburgh Street between 4:30 and 5 a.m. Saturday and made his way to a woman’s bedroom.
Police say they now know the man gently shook the victim to wake her up before masturbating in front of her.
“A little more disturbing in this case because the person obviously wanted the victim to know he was there,” says Cst. Brian Palmeter with Halifax police.
He says the victim confronted the man and her family woke up. The man took off as police were being called.
The victim was able to get a detailed description.
“Once we meet with the sketch artist and get a sketch of the suspect that should help investigators determine whether there’s a connection to the other ones,” says Palmeter
“The other ones” refer to the South End sleep-watching incidents.
Police say this case has some differences – the victim lived with a house full of people and the location is not in the sleep-watcher’s South End area. However, as in the sleep-watcher cases, the suspect entered through an unlocked door.
