Teen injured in glider crash

A young air cadet was taken to hospital after a glider she was a passenger in crash-landed on the weekend.

It happened Sunday afternoon at the Debert airfield.

The 13-year-old girl and a female  pilot were being towed for takeoff when a decision was made to abort.

The RCMP say the glider then hit the ground pretty hard.

The young girl was taken to hospital complaining of neck pain.

The airfield is home to the Atlantic Regional Training School and helps cadets qualify for a Transport Canada glider pilot licence.
