Hundreds of family, friends and classmates of 15-year-old David Julien packed the Stevens Road United Baptist Church to pay tribute to the teen who died in Sunday’s East Dartmouth crash.
The chapel was filled to capacity Friday afternoon, with two equally packed overflow rooms where mourners watched the service over video link.
Students hugged outside the chapel before going in.
As people filed into the church, photos of an always smiling David flashed on a screen while rap music played.
Members of the church singing group David was a part of opened the funeral service with three songs.
David’s brother J.R. gave a short, tearful eulogy.
“David always had your back, even if it sometimes got him in trouble,” he said.
Lic. Anthony Liberatore, the leader of the youth group David was a part of, told stories of how David could turn any situation into a good time.
