Kid Rock concert on Commons cancelled

Kid Rock isn’t coming to Halifax this summer.

Concert promoter Harold MacKay issued a release late Wednesday night saying the event scheduled for July 23 on the Halifax Commons has been cancelled.

Kid Rock was the main attraction in a lineup that included the Counting Crows, Daughtry, Tonic, the Jimmy Swift Band and the Stanfields.

MacKay gives no explanation for the cancellation, but he does say the Saturday show featuring the Black Eyed Peas and Weezer is still a go.

Anyone who purchased tickets for the July 23rd concert can get a refund through Ticket Atlantic until the date of the scheduled concert.  Fans are also being given the option of using their tickets to attend the Saturday show.  VIP ticket holders must make an actual ticket exchange to get a new assigned seat for the 24th show.
