Fells to return as Graham Creighton school principal

A Halifax administrator who was removed from his position as the principal of Graham Creighton Junior High School will be returning to his old job in the fall.

Ken Fells was notified today that he will be returning to his old job.

Fells garnered national attention this year when video was leaked to the media showing him confronting a student in a hallway at the school on March 3rd. Board staff reassigned Fells to another position within the board but his supporters had always maintained he should be returned to his post.

The Human Resources Director with the Halifax Regional School Board tells News 95-7 there was strong community desire to have him back in his job. Mike Christie says there were written requests from the community and most significantly from the School Advisory Council. Christie says Fells took the news very well and is excited to return to his unfinished work at Graham Creighton Junior High.

Christie adds any of the concerns they have about the re-instatement are small and can be overcome saying he’ll be very focused and very professional in terms of getting on with the job.

In a statement, Fells expressed his appreciation for the decision saying ““ am pleased to be going back to Graham Creighton Junior High and continuing the work that we have started.”
