Man in custody after apparent abduction in Sambro

The major crime section of Halifax Regional Police is looking into a possible abduction in the Sambro area.
A 29-year-old woman was taken to a “secluded location” Monday night by a man who held her there against her will.
Sgt. Paul Robertson says the woman was able to get away and she ran to a home on Old Sambro Road for help just before 11 p.m.
“The homeowner contacted police and police responded to that location,” he said. “We’re currently interviewing the victim and a suspect is in custody now and major crime officers are investigating the matter.”
Robertson says it’s not clear how or where the abduction started.
