MONCTON, N.B. – RCMP have now confirmed that a body found in Shenstone, about 20 kilometres south of Moncton, is 25 year old Sabrina Patterson.
They’re also calling the death a homicide.
Patterson has been missing since October 29.
Her body was found on Saturday around 11:00 a.m. by a man who was out searching specifically for her.
He called police who proceeded to secure the area.
Sabrina Patterson’s death is being treated as a homicide, but no charges have been laid.
An autopsy is being underway to determine the cause and time of death.
A spokesperson notes that they hope to have preliminary results on Sunday.
A Facebook group titled “Missing Person” has now filled with condolences; Patterson’s sister Joni Fagan-Hicks wrote a message expressing thanks to those who helped with a search on Saturday.
She went on to say, “I don’t have words to explain how greatful I am.. we found her and now can get closure.. thanks again all…”.
Meantime, a candlelight vigil for the slain mother of two is slated for this evening at 9:00 in front of her home in Riverview.
