Human remains found during hunt for clues in missing man cold case
There’s been a major development in the case of a former Hell’s Angel who disappeared 11 years ago.
RCMP searching a property near Truro in connection with the cold case say they’ve found human remains.
Officers have been searching the land on Hiram Lynd’s Road since Wednesday, reportedly acting on a tip they received in October related to the disappearance of Randy Mersereau.

The remains, discovered late Sunday afternoon, have been turned over to the medical examiner for identification.
Mersereau disappeared in October 1999, a month after he escaped a bombing in Bible Hill that injured six other people. Police believe he was targeted because of a drug war with the biker gang.
The CBC quotes court documents that suggest police believe Mersereau was killed by a man who joined the Hell’s Angels shortly after Mersereau’s disappearance. Jeffrey Albert Lynds is currently facing first-degree murder charges in connection with two killings in Montreal.
Last week, RCMP charged Gerald McCabe, 41, of Salmon River with being an accessory in Mersereau’s murder. He’s accused of helping Lynds escape after Mersereau’s death.
McCabe is due in court Tuesday.
