Man struck in Timberlea crosswalk

Another person has been hit while in a crosswalk in the HRM. It’s at least the fourth incident in the past couple of weeks.

This time, the Mounties say a 74 year old man was hit on St. Margaret’s Bay Road in Timberlea around 5 Tuesday night.

The driver of the car stuck around to help. The victim was taken to the QE2 with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say he was carrying a flashlight while walking, but he was wearing dark-coloured clothing.

At this point, the belief is the man entered the cross walk with his head down to protect himself from the high winds.
