Scotia Cruises considers Yarmouth ferry service

There may still be hope for a Yarmouth-based ferry service.
Scotia Cruises has announced it’s exploring the idea of operating a service from Nova Scotia to New England that would be located in Yarmouth.
Five ferry operators that applied to the Yarmouth Area Industrial Commission didn’t meet requirements to start up this spring but the commission has now announced a revised deadline for 2012.
Bruce MacNeil of Scotia Cruises tells Metro Halifax they’re willing to go back to the table to try and come up with an agreement for a Portland-Yarmouth service.
Scotia had originally planned to operate out of Halifax but MacNeil says there’s been lots of support for a Yarmouth service and he says the area could use the boost in business.
