Dartmouth furniture maker closing down again

A financially troubled Dartmouth furniture maker is shutting down for at least two weeks.

The Herald is reporting Scanwood has told  its more than 200 workers they’ll be off the job with no pay.

A union official tells the paper the company has assured the union workers will get their pay to this point.

Scanwood is operating under court protection but that protection ends Monday.

A company official says they continue to look for new contracts.

It’s the second time in two months the company has shut down.
