MONCTON, NB – RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a couple of inmates who escaped this morning from the Westmorland Institution in Dorchester.
The two men were reported missing at around 4:45 this morning following a head-count at the minimum security prison.
According to police it appears the two inmates escaped from their living quarters through a window.
Missing are 27-year-old Bradley Barton of Pugwash, Nova Scotia and 22-year-old Justin Lavigine of Truro, Nova Scotia.
Both men are suspected of stealing a white 2006 GMC pickup truck with New Brunswick license plate number CNV 433.
The truck has a fuel tank in the box of the truck.
It’s unknown which direction the men would have gone but there is a good possibility they are heading to Nova Scotia.
