Tall Ships Festival is a success.

This year’s Tall ship festival is turning out to be a success.

Downtown Halifax is crowded with people attending the annual event.

This year coincides with the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812.

Soldiers, sailors, pipers and drummers of the 78th Highlanders regiment have been celebrating on the waterfront.

Those venturing down look at the Tall Ships are advised to take public transportation, or park away from the waterfront and walk down to avoid traffic congestion.

The last round of free fireworks happens tonight around 9:30, the parade of sail takes place tomorrow from noon until 2pm.
