Four small universities in Eastern Canada are forming a strategic alliance.
The four schools include St. Francis Xavier and Acadia in Nova Scotia, Mount Allison in New Brunswick, and Bishop’s University in Quebec.
They are calling their partnership the U-4 League.
Academic vice-president Mary McGillivray of St. Francis Xavier says the university presidents see this an opportunity to work together and raise the profiles of the four schools.
McGillivray says discussion on how this partnership will evolve is still in its early stages.
However, the schools could work together through collaborative programs, courses and research, student exchanges and professional opportunities for faculty at other universities.
