Man charged with murder in decade-old case of missing N.S woman

A 45-year-old man from Dartmouth has been charged with murder in the death of a woman who disappeared more than a decade ago.

The RCMP say that on Aug. 10, 2002, Rhonda Wilson’s husband told them that his wife left their Kentville home three days earlier to go for an evening walk but did not return.

Wilson was a 31-year-old mother of three at the time she disappeared.

The RCMP have issued a statement saying they have charged Albert Baird of Dartmouth with first-degree murder.

The Mounties say they haven’t located Wilson’s remains and are still investigating.

In April 2010, the Nova Scotia government offered a $150,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the case as part
of its Major Unsolved Crimes Program.

The RCMP say tips from the program did not lead to the arrest.
