Police hope public can help solve 15-year-old murder case

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the murder of Gail Stone and Richard Marriott and the HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit hopes the public can provide the tip that will help solve the case.
On November 20, 1998, at 9:41 p.m., police responded to a report of a double shooting at 15 Parkmoor Avenue in Halifax.
Officers located Gail Marie Stone inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to hospital but died from her injuries four days later.
Richard Joseph Marriott, Gail’s common law husband, who used a wheelchair, was also located inside the home suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Richard was last seen alive at approximately 9:15 p.m. the same day on Dutch Village Road. He was driving a maroon colored 1996 Dodge Caravan, and it is believed that he arrived home at approximately 9:30 p.m.
